1963
- året då Beatles
slog igenom i världen och i.. Sverige. Något genombrott över en natt i
Sverige var det inte fråga om - den 10 mars 1963 gick "Please please
me" in på 10:e plats på Tio i topp - Alice Babs låg trea den
veckan !
"From me to you" var nästa singel att nå Tio i topp. En 5:e
plats som bäst och det var premiärveckan också..
"She loves
you" blev dock det definitiva genombrottet. Från en debut på listan
som nummer 5 den 5 oktober 1963 så åkte låten sedan jo-jo på listan
innan "She loves you" plötsligt låg etta den 9 november. Sedan
var det Beatles "She loves you" och "I want to hold your
hand" på förstaplatsen ända fram till den
1 februari - med ett undantag - när Stockholm röstade med Kristinehamn
den 14 december 1963 så valdes Streaplers´ "Diggety doggety"
som nummer ett - framför the Beatles och "She loves you".
The Ronettes producerade av Phil Spector.
Veronica Bennett "Ronnie" - sångerska i Ronettes -
gifte sig 1968 med Phil.
